A Trauma Informed Yoga class is a safe environment with a no-touch, invitational approach to yoga practice. It offers a supportive environment to reconnect with your body and to learn how to make yoga shapes and sequences. It is also an opportunity to be part of a small group class. A TIY class isn't a therapy session and you will never be asked to share your history or process, but your teacher is trained to be sensitive to trauma and will always make space for you to re-centre or to opt out of any practice or class.
If this kind of yoga class sounds like something you would like to try, then come along. No need to bring anything with you or wear any particular clothing, although our practice space is a no-shoe zone.
After this you may wish to join our TIY group which will meet for 4 consecutive weeks (dates below) so that you can continue your yoga practice. TIY groups are small and we invite the same people to attend each week. The current group is a mixed-gender group, but please get in touch for information about gender-specific groups as we bring them to our timetable.
