Gong Sound Bath
In a sound bath, Gong, crystal bowl and other instruments are used to create an enveloping soundscape into which you can release your worries and responsibilities and float in the sea of supportive sound. The vibrations of the instruments resonate deeply within the body, both in the physical and energetic planes and can be powerful healers in their own right. During each session, a unique sound experience is created and offered with pure intent for healing and your highest good.
Deep Rest Meditation
Resting back & opening, softening, feeling into the deeper knowing beneath our busyness, below the pressure & demand. A chance to start to notice the endless chattering of the mind, the stories we tell ourselves and to discover a different place: quiet, spacious & nourishing, a peacefulness that is always there. A brief talk, followed by guided meditation with a space for reflection and enquiry at the end.
This session will focus on how to transition the mind and body from moving through a busy week, for many of us spent in continuous momentum with to-do lists and obligations, shifting to the weekend, which allows us to honour a different approach to how we spend our time in terms of inner landscape and the more outwardly physical aspects of the body.
Tibetan Singing Bowls Sound Bath
A sound bath is a live performance that creates a safe space for relaxation and healing. You can lie or sit in comfort while Nick's collection of more than 30 old and new singing bowls are played. The gentle and powerful sounds of the bowls will slow your brain waves to a meditative state and you will drift to wherever the sound takes you. In this safe space you can leave behind stress, free up head-space and allow healing to take place. HOW SHOULD I PREPARE? You only need to come, lie down and relax. But a sound bath will be most powerful if you also set an intention. You could focus on changing an aspect of yourself or resolving an issue that is preoccupying you. WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE? A sound bath affects people in many ways: deep relaxation, yawning, sometimes sleep, a feeling of deep calm, inner reflection leading to clarity, emotional release and healing. When the sound has drifted away to silence you should leave feeling lighter, well rested and refreshed.
In Yoga Nidra one is systematically guided through different levels of relaxation, leading to a state of 'sleepless sleep.' In this state one is able to experience physical and emotional relaxation and healing and to access deeper states of consciousness. This guided meditation is accessible to all. Practitioners lie down comfortably, with blankets, cushions and bolsters as appropriate and simply follow the teacher's voice. There are different styles and traditions of yoga nidra and we will be offering opportunities to experience a range.
