Thank you so much to everyone who has offered such helpful feedback and encouragement for our Trauma Informed Yoga class. With the added help of professional supervision we have made some exciting changes.
If you’re interested, please read on!
Our weekly Trauma Informed Yoga class is a safe environment with a no-touch, invitational approach to yoga practice. It offers a supportive environment for you to continue the process of befriending your body as well as an opportunity for you to be part of a small group class. Going forward you will find this class has more active yoga forms and sequences to explore while respecting that you are always in charge of your body and that it’s you who will make the choices about what is right for you at any time in the class.
As before, the class isn't a therapy session and you will never be asked to share your history or process, but your teacher is trained to be sensitive to trauma and will always make space for you to re-centre or to opt out of any practice.
If this kind of yoga class sounds like something you would like to try, then do come along. However, if you feel you are in the earlier stages of reclaiming your body, we recognise that even a TIY class may not be the right setting just now. What you may want to discuss with your therapist or health professional is trying a 20-30min private TIY class with Beverley with simple practices and simple choices. You can get in touch any time to discuss this confidentially.
Please contact Beverley confidentially for more information at firstname.lastname@example.org
