About Louise: Louise has a busy practice in Waterbeach, seeing a wide range of clients, and is delighted to be able to offer Craniosacral Therapy appointments at Satyam on Wednesdays.
Louise qualified in 1999 as a physiotherapist and developed her manual and clinical skills working within the medical model. She went on to complete her Diploma in Craniosacral Biodynamics at the Karuna Institute, Devon, in 2005. Louise has since done postgraduate training to work with babies, and a course in trauma therapy. Louise has also worked as a teaching assistant at the Karuna Institute and is a supervisor for the Craniosacral Therapy Association.
About Craniosacral Therapy: Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle form of bodywork involving steady touch at precise locations on your body with skilled, listening hands.
The aim is to facilitate the natural healing processes in your body and equilibrium in your nervous system.
As a practitioner, Louise respectfully perceives your wholeness (body, mind and spirit) while working with your body.
A Craniosacral therapy treatment can be a profoundly restorative experience. Each treatment offers you a space to be heard, held and to safely explore and release tension, stress and inertia. Treatments are an opportunity to reconnect with your health and deepen your body- and self-awareness. Craniosacral therapy is suitable for people of all ages and conditions, as a therapeutic or a well-being treatment. In Louise’ experience, it can be particularly helpful in supporting recovery after traumatic injury or surgery, and for conditions affecting the head, face and nervous system. Please wear comfortable clothing as you don't need to undress for the treatment session.

Equilibrium massage is my unique style of massage aimed at promoting inner equilibrium – equilibrium of both the body and mind. This style of massage combines elements from Swedish massage, acupressure, and deep tissue massage. I developed Equilibrium massage to promote the release of stress, muscle tension, and the overload on our body. This massage will help you feel more relaxed, energised, and focused. It will also help promote improved sleep, and body function through all the benefits of massage listed below.
Athletic massage is another unique style of massage that I have developed which combines elements from deep tissue massage, acupressure, and stretching massage. This massage style is aimed at the relief of muscle tension, tightness and pain associated with exercise and other physical activity. It improves circulation, helps the body to release toxins, and also helps to increase mobility, flexibility, and range of motion. Athletic massage is a good compliment to any type of strength-building or weight-bearing exercises (including weight lifting, high intensive interval training, squats, lunges, running, rowing, dance, etc.) to maximise your physical abilities and wellbeing.

Myriam Thomachot BTAA (The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia) is a Certified Bowen Technique Practitioner registered with the Bowen Association UK qualified from the Northwest School of Structural Therapy, Seattle, USA. Please see her website for more info: www.MoonFlowerHealing.com
Myriam moved to Cambridge in 2017 from North America where she was running her own practice. She works primarily with people who are looking to resolve pain, tension and stress and who want to live in a more vibrant body with a calm heart and centred mind. Myriam decided to train in the Bowen Technique after it helped her relieve the tension she was holding in her body since she had a herniated disc at 17. She was really curious how these subtle Bowen moves brought her such relief. She is now dedicated to help facilitate people’s healing using this technique. She has a caring and gentle approach.
The Bowen Technique is a very effective bodywork therapy, where gentle moves are performed on the fascia, muscles and tendons, stimulating the nervous system to reset and allows your innate body healing ability to take place. To allow this, there are frequent pauses between the moves to allow a feedback loop to the brain from the nervous system. The late Tom Bowen intuitively created this technique and helped about 13,000 people a year at his busy practice in Geelong, Australia. The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia (BTAA) was established in 1987 to teach his technique around the world.
It is holistic in the sense that it considers the whole body to resolve a specific complaint and it embraces the client’s physical and emotional aspects. It is safe and effective for all ages. Treatment is done through comfortable clothing (please bring loose-fitting clothing or yoga pants and tee shirt that your practitioner can work through).
The Bowen Technique can
Decrease pain, inflammation, muscle spasms or tightness
