Energy & Emergence - A Weekend Retreat
Friday 1st May, 5pm - Sunday 3rd May, 2pm

book here
Picture
Join us for our first ever Satyam weekend retreat. A weekend of a whole range of yogic experiences, from movement, breathwork and yoga nidra to meditation, chanting and karma yoga (the yoga of action). Alongside this there will be informal time together, walks in nature, time alone, music, games, laughter, silence; connection, both within and without.

The theme is Energy & Emergence. Yoga can support us to create new patterns and new habits in our being and in our life, to re-educate our body and mind, to free up energy so we can use it more consciously. We will practice yoga that brings our energy alive, uplifts us, and brings us in line with the energy of spring.

The retreat begins on May Day (Beltane) - the peak of spring and a festival of fire, energy, growth and renewal.

There will be the option of learning some yogic cleansing practices. There will be wholesome and delicious food and drink.

There may be an option to bring along a tent and camp in the large garden - contact us to find out more.

The venue is about an hour's drive from Cambridge, in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. We will stay in a beautiful renovated barn - an eco-friendly retreat space which is comfortable and spacious. The accommodation is shared rooms of up to 6 people, all with en suite bathrooms. (Please note that there will be silence in the bedrooms after a certain time in the evening, which will allow you to have your own psychological space, even though you are sharing a room with others).

We would encourage you to car share and can help to coordinate this  to the nearer to the time. The nearest train station is Diss, and we can arrange to collect you from the station which is a 10 minute drive from the retreat space.

The retreat will begin at 5pm on the Bank Holiday Friday and end after lunch at 2pm on the Sunday.

The price for this weekend retreat, including all food and drink, accommodation and yoga and meditation is £300.

To reserve your space an £100 deposit is required. Following this it is possible to pay the remaining amount in full,or as two further payments of £100 each.

Hridayakasha - Awakening the Heartspace: A Day Retreat

Next date tbc
In Yogic Tradition, the Hridayakasha is the space of the Spiritual Heart. Although in the region of the physical heart, this space is boundless, expanding beyond the physicality of the heart organ.
Within this space is a divine light, which symbolises our Eternal Self, or atman, the essential part of ourselves that has no beginning and no end.

This Day Retreat at Satyam will explore and cultivate the qualities of the heartspace. Through mindful and uplifting movements, yogic breathwork, mantras (sound), yoga nidra (awakened sleep), meditation and mouna (silence), we will nourish a sense of resonance and connect with our heart as our inner teacher and guide.

We will provide a delicious lunch, following which we will share the practice of 'Hridayakasha Dharana', a heartspace meditation.

Inner Silence Day Retreat
Next date tbc

Picture
This day retreat which will take you through a well-rounded yogic experience of yoga, pranayama, meditation, yoga nidra  and silence.
The day will unfold with an asana practice that will include dynamic and energising movements and restorative postures. We will explore breathing techniques (pranayama) to refresh and balance the mind and body and as a bridge from the external environment to our inner world, as we move into a practice of silence.

Practising mouna (silence) enables the opportunity to rest our outgoing energies - the need to be constantly talking and engaging with the world around us - and gives us permission to connect with ourselves and others in a different way.

Following a practice of Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation) we will enjoy a simple shared lunch of rice and dahl.

In the afternoon we will practice Inner Silence (Antar Mouna), a meditation practice consisting of several stages which systematically guides the mind toward an experience of quietness and stillness. It does this through acknowledging and welcoming all of the mental fluctuations, rather than trying to repress thoughts and force the mind into stillness or silence (which ultimately leads to further mental activity or strain). The opportunity is provided to embrace all of the mind's activities, at times in a structured and focused way by consciously choosing specific thoughts to focus on.

Inner Silence can be a powerful and effective tool that can be used in daily life to support enhanced mental clarity and processing, healing or insight.

Cost: £55 which includes a nutritious lunch and herbal teas.
