Yoga for ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis / C.F.S (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome)
This course will allow people living with ME /C.F.S. a space to practice gentle yoga for support. Each week we will do gentle yoga movements/forms, breath practices as well as restorative forms to both invite energy as well as to support relaxation. Yoga's gentle, restorative poses can increase circulation and oxygen without irritating the body, this can help us feel less tired and more relaxed.
The class will be accessible, so students can work from where they are on any given day. Modifications will be provided so all students can access each movement or shape. Chairs, bolsters, cushions and blankets will be at hand to provide additional support when needed.
The class is taught by Ashley MacDonald, a yoga teacher with a specialisation in teaching accessible yoga in various settings. Ashley believes in creating yoga classes that can be experienced by all bodies and in all moods. She also enjoys sharing her love of restorative yoga. Ashley has received her TCTSY-F certification allowing her to support students who have experienced complex trauma and teaches trauma sensitive and trauma informed classes in locked facilities (prisons and hospitals), in small class settings and 1:1.
