Satyam Centre Supervisor
20 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am – 1pm; £12,480 per annum; plus free classes and float sessions
Role & Responsibilities
Reception
~ Staffing the office: First point of contact for visitors, signing customers into classes, taking payments and dealing with all customer related issues
~ Responding to enquiries: answering the phone and answering or redirecting enquiries, overseeing the Satyam Email Account in a timely, efficient and professional manner
~ Using booking system: Having a confident grasp of Wellness Living booking system and dealing with administrative issues that arise
~ Timetabling: Working closely with the Centre Director to keep Satyam timetable up to date including setting up new classes, courses and workshops; ensuring teacher details and cover classes are accurately displayed
~ Keeping up to date with Satyam’s classes and events (via the website and Wellness Living) so as to provide clear and accurate information to customers and teachers.
Wellbeing Room
~ Overseeing the process of therapist recruitment, including answering enquiries from potential therapists, sending out application forms, arranging interviews and viewings and liaising with therapists regarding new contracts.
~ Organising the online Wellbeing Room calendar and liaising with therapists regarding ad hoc sessions.
Promotions
~ Overseeing the design and display of physical posters at the centre
~ Keeping the outside a-board up to date and in good condition
~ Designing and updating the Wellbeing Room posters for the display board.
Teachers & Volunteers
~ Liaising with teachers regarding holidays and cover
~ Overseeing the volunteer rota
~ Training volunteers to use the Wellness Living system and general duties around the centre
Studios
~ Setting up the studios for the morning classes
~ Tidying props and preparing the studios for the evening classes
Cleaning
~ Some cleaning of the studios is required for this role, including vacuuming and dusting the yoga studios and the Wellbeing Area, washing up and ensuring the kitchen and lounge area is kept clean and tidy, plus overseeing bathroom hygiene.
Float Pool
~ Where appropriate, setting up the float pool for daytime sessions
General
~ Understanding and being aligned with Satyam’s values and policies
~ Having experience of yoga and an understanding of yoga in its various forms
Who is this job for?
This job requires someone who is highly organised and who has excellent interpersonal skills. A suitable candidate will be able to work independently, on their own initiative, and who can remain calm and centred whilst overseeing what can at times be a busy environment.
You will have experience of working in an administrative role and will be organised, be quick to pick up new skills and have a clear and friendly communication style.
Experience of working with booking systems such as Wellness Living, plus website design (Weebly) and graphic design (Canva) definitely an advantage.
The role will be based in the office at Satyam, with weekly face to face meetings with the Centre Director, plus daily email communication.
We require someone who has experience in yoga, and understands how yoga can be brought into daily life, and into the environment of Satyam through practice, ethics and philosophy.
We are less concerned about qualifications and more interested in someone's character and skills, however educational experience and past qualifications will form part of this application and we are interested in people's backgrounds and reasons for wanting to become part of the Satyam team.
